Weiss Gallenkamp Secures £1.7m Contract To Supply Environmental Simulation To Largest Laboratory in Scotland

Weiss Gallenkamp, the world's leading provider of controlled environmental simulation technology, today announces that it has secured a contract worth £1.7m to design, build and install 32 bespoke controlled environment rooms for Sir Robert M c Alpine Ltd as part of the Scottish Agriculture and Science Agency's (SASA) new laboratory facility at Gogarbank Farm.
Funded by the Scottish Assembly, SASA will move from its current East Craigs location to the new £24m facility later this year. The project incorporates a completely new build at SASA's field trialling site , delivering cutting edge facilities divided across seven new sections integrating the agency's laboratory, glasshouse and field operations . Weiss Gallenkamp has been contracted to provide, within Sir Robert M c Alpine Ltd's programme for design and clarification, controlled environment facilities within a clean area with services.
Forming a key element of the new Seeds and Laboratory wing, Weiss Gallenkamp will provide controlled environments for plant growth, seed storage, soil drying, nematode preparation and both long and short term storage for plant material. The storage facilities are also to incorporate Copenhagen Tanks for temperature controlled hydroponics.

They were very knowledgeable and we felt that they were best able to meet the demands of this large and complex project."

Weiss Gallenkamp will complete the project, and hand over the new facilities to SASA in November 2005.
Weiss Gallenkamp manufacture & design standard & bespoke Environmental Test Chambers, Temperature Test Chambers Pharmaceutical Stability Test Cabinets and Humidity Test Chambers.
In addition to this, special projects are also undertaken such as Altitude Test Chambers, Pharmaceutical Stability Test Rooms, Plant Growth Rooms and applications for Automotive & Aerospace testing.
