HEPHAISTOS microwave oven
Weiss Gallenkamp is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new range of microwave technology - HEPHAISTOS. It is the first time that the advantages of microwave technology have been developed successfully to an industrially mature high technology level.
This new heating technology is a world-wide patented system, developed by ourselves in association with Stuttgart University and EADS.
Named after the Greek god of handcraft and fire, we have named the system HEPHAISTOS and it is sold under our Votsch brand name.
The unique nature of the hexagonal shaped oven together with the control systems enables us to produce a homogenous microwave field inside the oven. There is no need to rotate the product as is done in a domestic microwave oven.
The homogenous microwave field inside the oven produces high quality structures leading the way to stronger products containing less material.
The HEPHAISTOS system is ideal for use within the Aerospace and Automotive sectors where glass fibre and carbon fibre is extensively used.
As we are using microwaves as the heating medium:
- The cycle time is significantly reduced as there is no need to heat the total oven – microwaves only heat the product.
- There are significant savings in running costs due to shorter heating and cooling times.
- Improvements in product quality are clearly visible due to homogenous heating.
