Processes latent fingerprints with great speed and high throughput with astonishing clarity. Suitable for Ninhydrin, D.F.O., 5-MTN, 1.2-Indanedione, Zinc chloride & Nickel nitrate procedures.
Known by users across the world as "The Fast Chamber", the Gallenkamp fingerprint development chamber was developed specifically to meet requirements of the UK Home Office Fingerprint Research Group. It proved invaluable and it is now used by virtually every Police Force in the UK. Many European Police Forces also use the Gallenkamp Fingerprint Chamber and users in the USA include the FBI and many State Crime Detection Offices.
Using the Gallenkamp fingerprint chamber, fingerprints can be detected with greater speed and higher throughput with astonishing clarity. The chamber works by optimising and accurately controlling the conditions under which exhibits are developed. The precisely controlled conditions of high temperature combined with high relative humidity, (80°C and 65% RH) accelerates the Ninhydrin process yielding excellent clarity in 3 minutes, compared to at best 10 minutes and often much longer using the more traditional methods of latent fingerprint detection on porous materials.
The DFO (1.8 diazafluoren-9-one) and Ninhydrin are recognised as the most effective way of detecting prints on paper and similar porous surfaces but the Gallenkamp Fingerprint development chamber can cope with all procedures requiring humidity control; including dry conditions.
The chamber features a rapid recovery capacity to the optimum development condition after the chamber door is opened and closed - essential for rapid throughput of material. The multi-glazed observation window, strip light and integrated internal wiper allows clear visual inspection of the developing images. For high accuracy and low maintenance a combined solid state temperature and humidity sensor is fitted, eliminating the need for frequent checking and replacement of wicks.
Available as a 195 Litre bench top model or the larger 600 Litre floor standing model, a wide range of size and shape of samples can be processed.
The chamber's generous working area and flexible shelving system enables large batches of operation material to be processed quickly and easily thereby improving both productivity and efficiency. The changeover between procedures requiring elevated humidity such as Ninhydrin and DFO which requires dry processing is achieved simply by the press of a switch. This further increases speed and efficiency.
The sample treatment chamber is made form high quality, corrosion resistant stainless steel. Vapours produced during the development process are vented via a connection at the rear of the cabinet which facilitates easy connection to a suitable extract system.
As you would expect from one of Europe's leading manufacturers of controlled environment products, the chamber's design and build quality are of the highest standards to ensure long-term reliability, durability and controllability.
The accurately controlled conditions of high temperature with high relative humidity, (80°C and 65% r.h.) for Ninhydrin yields excellent clarity in just three minutes compared to at best 10 minutes and often much longer using other traditional methods. The DFO sequence (100°C, no humidity) may also be used as a separate process.
The chamber's generous working area enables large batches of operational material to be handled quickly and easily, thereby improving both throughput and efficiency.
In addition to the standard chambers, we also offer custom-made solutions to user requirements and OEM clients.
